X Card Wallet Settings

In the ELLIPAL app homepage, click the wallet icon in the top left corner to view all wallet accounts.

  1. Wallet Name
When the X Card connects to the app for the first time, the system will create a default wallet name: Card + the last 4 digits of the card number.
  2. You can go to the settings page:
The "Wallet Name" option allows you to change the name.
In "X Card Association Info," you can view the number of X Cards connected to the wallet and their corresponding card numbers. This information includes only X Cards that have interacted with the app.

Using X Card and Titan Wallet Together

  1. Wallet Merging
When an X Card is connected to the app, if the generated address matches an existing Titan Wallet address, the system automatically merges the two wallets. This allows the user to switch between using Titan or X Card for signing within the same wallet.
  2. Switching Signing Modes
On the wallet settings page, locate the "Signing Mode" option to switch between X Card and Titan Wallet as the signing tool.

After merging, a quick-switch button for the signing tool appears in the top right corner of the combined wallet. Users can click this button to directly switch tools.

  3. Supported Networks and Balance Issues
Due to differences in the networks supported by the X Card and Titan wallet, switching signing tools may alter the displayed wallet balance. This is normal and does not affect on-chain assets.

X CARD FAQs

Features

Q: Can the X Card manage multiple wallet accounts at the same time?

A: Not currently supported. To manage multiple accounts, we recommend pairing with the ELLIPAL Titan 2.0 cold wallet, which can manage up to 5 seedphrase-based wallets and 5 private key wallets.

Q: What recovery methods does the X Card support?

A: Currently, it only supports recovering an existing wallet address using seed phrases.

Q: Does the X Card support Passphrase?

A: Yes! If your seed phrase has a Passphrase set, you need to enable this function in the Starter's "Settings" before restoring the wallet.

Q: How many wallets can be copied to an X Card?

A: Each time a wallet is created or restored, users can copy the same wallet to up to 10 X Cards simultaneously.

Q: What happens to historical wallets in the app after resetting the X Card?

A: If you reset your X Card and create a new wallet on it, the previous wallet account will be automatically deleted from your app when you link the card to the app again.
If you have multiple X Cards and only want to reset one, you can go to the wallet settings > Connected X Cards > and delete the corresponding card number. This way, when you link the reset card to the app, it will not affect the old account.

Q: Can the X Card be used with the Titan cold wallet?

A: Yes! When the X Card and Titan cold wallet have the same address, the system automatically merges them into a single wallet. You can then freely switch signing modes in the wallet settings to suit different scenarios.

Q: Do the networks supported by the X Card and the Titan cold wallet overlap?

A: The X Card supports most networks that the Titan wallet supports but has some limitations. Currently, the X Card does not support the following networks or address types:

  • Non-BIP44 type XRP addresses
  • Kusama (KSM)
  • Polkadot (DOT)

Whenever a new network is supported, we will announce whether the X Card is compatible.

Q: Why is the asset balance different when importing the same seed phrase into the X Card and Titan?

A: The difference is due to variations in the networks supported by the X Card and Titan wallets, which affect the balance calculations across all network addresses. This is normal. If you hold unsupported network assets in the X Card, we recommend using the Titan to recover the wallet and transact such assets.

Security Features

Q: If the X Card is lost, can assets be stolen?

A: No need to worry! Even if the device is lost, the correct PIN code is required to perform any operations.

Dual protection—After 10 consecutive incorrect PIN attempts, the device will automatically wipe all data.

Security suggestions—Avoid using simple PIN codes (e.g., 123456). If the Card-PIN is too simple and you’re concerned about wallet security, you can recover the wallet using the seed phrase and transfer the assets.

Q: If my phone is lost or damaged, can I still access my assets?

A: Yes, it will not affect access. Simply download the ELLIPAL app on any device, reconnect the X Card, and manage the wallet and assets as usual.

Q: Why is the Starter necessary for creating/restoring an X Card wallet?

A: The Starter is designed for fully offline operations, cutting off all external networks and interfaces. It ensures that seed phrase generation or restoration is entirely conducted in an isolated environment, eliminating risks of hacking or data leaks.

Q: How does the Starter ensure the creation and restoration of wallets are secure?

A: The Starter is equipped with multiple layers of protection:

Tamper-proof self-destruct—A physical security layer inside the device locks permanently upon any tampering or damage, preventing private keys from being accessed.

Zero connectivity—It has no Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, or other data interfaces, completely eliminating the possibility of remote intrusion (the charging port is strictly for power, with no data transmission).

Fully offline operation—All sensitive actions (e.g., seed phrase generation) are conducted in a closed environment, with no data ever exposed to a network.

Q: Does copying the X Card lower its security?

A: Not at all! The security level of a copied card is identical to the original. Each card’s private key is securely stored in an independent secure chip (similar to a safe), and cannot be read or duplicated. Possessing both the original and the copy does not allow private key extraction.

Q: Does the X Card have an anti-counterfeit feature?

A: Yes, every X Card is equipped with a unique encrypted key at the factory (like a digital ID). When connecting to the app, it undergoes automatic verification. Only officially sold X Cards from ELLIPAL will function; counterfeit cards will be rejected.

Q: Can the X Card be tampered with or hacked? Is NFC communication secure?

A: The X Card does not allow data writing via NFC, so there’s no risk of tampering during daily use. Moreover, communication between the X Card and the app is encrypted and does not involve the private key itself. Even if NFC communication is intercepted, it’s impossible to extract valuable information.

Usage Advice

Q: Do I have to save the seed phrase?

A: It’s optional. If you are worried about mishandling the seed phrase, you can choose not to record it and instead rely on card duplication. You can decide how many cards to copy (up to 1+10=11 cards). The more cards you have, the lower the risk of total loss or damage. However, you still need to remember your Card-PIN. If you forget your Card-PIN, you will need to recover your wallet through the Starter and seed phrase, and set a new Card-PIN.

Q: The X Card occasionally fails to scan. How can I improve the success rate?

Ensure that the X Card's chip side is directly against the central back of the phone or the NFC area near the camera, and hold it still until you hear the prompt sound.

Avoid issues such as misaligned positioning, the chip side being away from the NFC area, or overly thick protective cases. If necessary, use your phone's settings to search and confirm the exact NFC area.

Q: Is the X Card waterproof, and how durable is it?

A: It has a certain level of water resistance and can withstand brief contact with rain or sweat in various daily scenarios. However, due to the exposed design of the metal contacts, please wipe it dry promptly after use and avoid submersion (it is recommended to use a protective card case). Prolonged water exposure may result in contact oxidation or data issues.

The physical durability of the X Card is tested under the same international standard system as bank cards, with only slightly weaker bending resistance compared to bank cards. It is recommended that users store the X Card flat during daily use to maximize its lifespan.
