ELLIPAL Hardware Wallet - Not the simplest cold wallet?

We would like to share with you a mistake that ELLIPAL made. Thanks to this customer, we were able to know what many of our customers really feel. This was the email we received:

Cold wallet hardware wallet comment

First of all, we really appreciate the time this person took to write this email. We will take his words seriously and improve.

What is mentioned here is that our tutorials are not good enough. They are difficult to read and understand for beginners. Even our videos are hard to follow. People who are new to cryptocurrency, hardware wallets and cold storage will have a hard time figuring out the ELLIPAL. As a company that takes pride in our product’s ease of use compared to others, we take his comments to the heart.

More importantly, users do not know what they need to do once they get their ELLIPALs! Most users do not know that an update is needed to unlock all the coins that we support and that they also need to purchase an SD card. This user was unhappy that he had to go out and buy an SD card before he can use his ELLIPAL! We realized this is due to our carelessness in communicating with our customers. We will take time and create a better a tutorial for all especially a clear rundown of what users should do once they get their ELLIPAL.

We are currently rewriting our tutorials and other parts of the website to make things better for everyone. New ELLIPAL users shoud look forward to this!

To anyone who is looking to buy an ELLIPAL Hardware Wallet, please do not forget to get your SD card! We sell them together with the ELLIPAL at our shop. Currently, we have a special promotion going on. If you use the code "freeshipping" at checkout, not only you will get free 3 days shipping for the ELLIPAL Hardware Wallet, you will also get a free Sandisk 16GB MicroSD card!

I recently purchased an Ellipal Titan and have been struggling to fully understand how it works. Usually when you purchase a new electronic device like a cell phone it comes with an instruction manual that is about an inch thick with very detailed operating instructions. With Titan all I got was a 3 page quick start fold out which, outside of how to charge it and turn it on was pretty useless. Speaking of useless the YouTube vids fit that category to a tea. While I’m on that subject you list 5 ways to get in touch with you, none of which I use. HOW ABOUT A DIRECT EMAIL ADDRESS? All that said, I did download the app and connected it to the Ellipal. I use Coinbase for my exchange platform. I was able to copy my receive address for one of my tokens on the app and paste it to the recipient field on the Coinbase website. (had to copy the address and email it to myself first-not cool) I then hit the send button on Coinbase and the token amount showed up in the app in about a minute or less. All that was good. The problem I have is that I’m not sure if I properly transferred the token amount to the Ellipal. HOW CAN I VERIFY THE TOKENS ARE ON THE ELLIPAL AND NOT JUST SITTING ON THE APP? I have tried to do a transfer from the app to the Ellipal and I get one of three messages: 1) Account already exists 2) Invalid address 3) Cannot transfer to the same address Don’t tell me the coins were already there because when I sent them from Coinbase to the app they showed up in the app but the Ellipal WAS OFF at the time. Do I have to set up a new account each frigging time I want to add the same coins? And how do I know what is in the account I set up in the first place. COUNT ME VERY, VERY FRUSTRATED!! I do agree with the email at the beginning of this post along with all the others that say there is a need for a VERY simple set of instructions to identify and list a set of the terms used which a lot of us newbies are unfamiliar with. A lot of acronyms are used which I have no idea what they are referring to. I think the concept and construction of this wallet is really great. But there needs to be some way to SEE what is on the Ellipal. A separate password for a given token or something to let you verify the coins are there. I now have coins on the app and the exchange. I’m afraid if I lost my phone there may be nothing on the Ellipal for me to recover. Would someone who knows how to do this please HELP! Bob Sprouse Ps. On a separate note I checked the version of the Ellipal I have and it is a version 2.4. The current upgrade is a version 2.5. I bought a 16GB micro SD card, did the download and followed the instructions for the upgrade. I just got a very quick message “The latest version is up to date”. So I’m guessing that the Ellipal did not see the SD card. I double checked the card on the computer and it was in fact the 2.5 version. It was a new disk and I did format it first. I did try the process a second time but the SD card will not stay in the saddle tool used for charging and upgrades. I used a piece of tape to hold it in place but it still did not work. Looks like I will need a replacement for that as well. Please advise. I’m almost to the point of using it for target practice like Earl said but it would have to be from 20 feet instead of 200 yards. And then I would probably still miss.

I’m not new to crypto’s but I struggle with them every time I buy some and store them. I’m an old dude who did not grow up with computers. I bought an Ellipal Titan but cannot figure out how to get my crypto’s onto it as any instructions I’ve seen are greek to me . It would be nice if someone came up with Ellipal for dummies so people like me could learn to use the wallet. I am currently planning on shooting this thing at 200 yards with my 30-06.

I still, after a year with the Ellipal, CANNOT figure out how to transfer my crypto from the wallet using the phone app to an exchange. As the OP said, and you confirmed, you really need to make the instructions crystal clear and easy to follow. I have not had any notification that Ellipal has done this yet. But they still push their product regardless.

I fully agree with the tutorial issue as I just got my Elli today. I consider myself a somewhat knowledgeable person re cryptos, but found the transfer process from an exchange to the Elli confusing (terminology maybe?) and also from my Nano S to the Elli. Elli really deserves a clear, easy to understand instruction manual so she can perform crypto tasks and shine! LOL Seriously, will you be blasting emails to us when you have re-written the tutorials/user manual? It would help to know which one is the most recent. Thank you.

I have been using the Ellipal for a few months now, im 61 years old and found it incredibly easy to use as I also have a Trezor 1 but I much prefer the ellipal but they should look at storing more tokens like Monero, Neo Pivx .
