What to know about the ELLIPAL Titan Cold Wallet

    If you have purchased yourself an ELLIPAL hardware wallet, you are already on your way to securing your cryptocurrency in the most secure air-gapped cold wallet. However, it is also important for you, the user, to understand the basics of this wallet in order to keep your crypto secure at all time.

  • What Does ELLIPAL Do?

    ELLIPAL helps you create your seed phrase account in a secure and offline environment. This consists of generating private keys and addresses. Addresses are shared with the app, while the private keys are securely kept within the ELLIPAL device, protected from hackers. ELLIPAL is also used when you want to securely sign transactions.

  • What Does ELLIPAL App Do?

    The ELLIPAL App is designed to seamlessly pair with the ELLIPAL device via QR codes. When connected, the device allows the app to access your wallet addresses. The app then syncs your balances with blockchain data, enabling you to add custom tokens and initiate transactions. As the ELLIPAL device is a fully offline cold wallet, it does not display balances directly, ensuring your private keys remain completely secure.

    Additionally, you can create a hot wallet account directly within the ELLIPAL App. This account is managed entirely online through the app, providing added convenience for everyday transactions.

  • Air-gapped

    At the hardware level, the ELLIPAL device is designed without any connectivity options like USB, Bluetooth, or WiFi. This ensures that the ELLIPAL device remains completely isolated from networks and other devices, making it immune to remote attacks that other hardware wallets might be vulnerable to. Your private key stays safe and offline at all times.

  • Anti-disassembly & Anti-tamper

    The ELLIPAL device is built strongly to prevent physical hacks. The unit is built upon a durable metal frame, hackers cannot crack open the device without causing permanent damage to the unit. If a hacker attempts to crack open the unit, the device will self-destruct, safeguarding your crypto.

    The ELLIPAL device is all about being transparent. All QR code coming out of the ELLIPAL device can be verified with any QR code scanner. Users can prove to themselves that every QR code is correct and contains the right information. A large screen also allows user to double-check their transactions and make sure they are always sending to the correct address.

How to Set Up My First Cold Wallet Account on The ELLIPAL Titan?

1) Create an Account on the ELLIPAL Device

Creating an account is easy, follow the steps below and watch the video below for reference.

i. Turn on your ELLIPAL device, choose your language, select "Next", and select "Create Account".

ii. Fill in your account information and set up your passphrase (optional). If you add a passphrase when creating account, it is crucial to enter it when recovering your account. Never forget it.

iii. After selecting "Create Account", select "Backup", read the 3 important points carefully. Select "Back up now", ELLIPAL will generate a set of seed phrases.

iv. Back up your seed phrase and keep it well. It is the only backup to your wallet and all of your crypto.

v. Verify the seed phrase by selecting the right words in order and press "Verify seed phrase".

vi. Select the coins you want and complete creation process

2) Pair Your New Account to The ELLIPAL App

Once you have successfully created your account on the ELLIPAL device, you will have to pair it with ELLIPAL App to be able to view your balance and create transactions. If you haven't, download the App HERE. Pairing is easy, follow the steps and video below.

i. Select the chain icon on the top right corner.

ii. It will display the connection QR code.

iii. Go to ELLIPAL app, select 'Cold wallet' - 'Connect to Cold wallet' and the camera will be activated.

iv. Use your phone to scan all the QR codes on ELLIPAL to complete synchronization. You can press "Auto Play" on your ELLIPAL device to automatically cycle through all the QR codes while you hold your phone.

v. Once completed, view the new cold wallet account on your mobile phone.

3) How to Send Transactions With The ELLIPAL Device

Transaction signing using QR code is a new idea for many people but it is much easier and fast (and secure!) once you get it. Follow the steps and the video below to understand.

i. If you want to send ETH, for example, go to your account on your ELLIPAL App and select ETH.

ii. Select "Send" at the bottom left corner.

iii. Enter the amount you want to send in ETH, fill in the "Recipient address" and select gas fee. Once confirmed, select "Submit".

iv. Double check your transaction details. Tap the dark area of the screen to reveal your "Unsigned Data QR Code".

v. Now, on your ELLIPAL device, go to your account and select ETH. Select "Sign" icon on the right.

vi. Input your password and press "Confirm". This will turn on the camera of the ELLIPAL device.

vii. Use the ELLIPAL device to scan the "Unsigned Data QR Code" on the ELLIPAL App. Double check the details and select "Ok".

viii. The ELLIPAL device will generate "Signed Data QR code".

ix. On the ELLIPAL App, select 'Scan Signed Data QR Code'. Your phone's camera will then turn on.

x. Use the App to scan the 'Signed Data QR code' on the ELLIPAL device to complete the transaction.

xi. Once the transaction is successful, you can check the transaction records in the app by selecting ETH.
