In the ELLIPAL cold wallet, the private key is securely encrypted and remains invisible to ensure the highest level of security. However, there are situations where you may need to export the private key—for example, to recover mistakenly sent assets. In such cases, you will first need to convert the cold wallet into a hot wallet (which connects to the internet).
Follow these steps to export your private key.
Step 1: Get a hot wallet
- Tap wallet icon-delete the original cold wallet-"Add Hot Wallet "-"Seed phrase"
- Enter seed phrase, passphrase (if set), name and password-"Import Account"
- You will get a hot wallet.
*Ensure the hot wallet address matches the original cold wallet address to access the correct account.
Step 2: Export private key
- Tap wallet icon-gear icon
- Select "Export Private key"-enter password-select "ETC" as an example
- Copy private key and keep it secure
After exporting the private key, ensure its security and never share it with anyone. If you no longer need the hot wallet, delete it and re-sync your cold wallet to maintain maximum security.
