Get Bitcoin

How to Get Bitcoin

Buy Bitcoin in the app, receive it from another wallet, or swap for it. Every path lands your Bitcoin in a self-custody wallet you control.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Three ways in. One safe result.

Getting Bitcoin with ELLIPAL works the same way no matter which path you take. Buy it inside the app, receive it from an exchange or another wallet, or swap another asset for it. In every case, the private key that controls your Bitcoin is generated and held entirely offline, on hardware you hold. ELLIPAL supports 45+ blockchains and 10,000+ tokens.

How to get Bitcoin

Whichever way Bitcoin gets to you, it lands in a wallet only you control.

Already hold Bitcoin

Receive

ELLIPAL supports all four Bitcoin address formats: Native SegWit ("bc1q"), Nested SegWit ("3"), Legacy ("1"), and Taproot ("bc1p", Titan only). It lands in a wallet only you control, whichever one you use.

Buy Bitcoin directly in the ELLIPAL App, with no exchange account needed. Supports 1,000+ crypto assets and 50+ fiat currencies. It arrives already under your control, no second move later.

Hold a different asset

Swap

Why it matters

Why own Bitcoin in an ELLIPAL wallet

No exchange account to freeze. No withdrawal step afterward. Just hardware built to hold.

01 Skip the withdrawal stepOn an exchange, buying Bitcoin is only half the job. You still have to withdraw it before it's actually yours. Get it through ELLIPAL, and that step disappears. Buying, receiving, or swapping all land straight in your wallet, with nothing left to move.
02 No account that can be frozenExchange accounts have been frozen, emptied, or lost overnight before, sometimes with no way for the account holder to get funds back. There's no such account attached to what you get through ELLIPAL.
03 The key never leaves the deviceWhichever way Bitcoin arrives, its private key is generated and stored entirely on your ELLIPAL hardware. Spending it later always needs a signature from your hardware wallet.

FAQ

Getting Bitcoin, answered

No. ELLIPAL is a self-custody wallet. Your Bitcoin private key is generated and held entirely on your hardware, and ELLIPAL never has access to it, whichever way you get your Bitcoin.

Your Bitcoin lives on the blockchain, not inside the device. As long as you have your Seed Phrase, you can recover full access on a new ELLIPAL device.

Generally, yes. Buying Bitcoin in the ELLIPAL App uses third-party payment providers, and most require identity verification before a purchase completes.

Fees vary by payment method and region, and the app shows the exact cost before you confirm. Card payments and bank transfers typically carry different fee levels.

Not for most people. All four formats work for receiving Bitcoin. If the wallet or exchange sending you Bitcoin expects a specific format, or you want the lowest fees, you can switch formats in the app.

Older or more basic wallets sometimes don't recognize newer formats like Native SegWit or Taproot as valid. Switch to sharing your Legacy address instead. It works with every Bitcoin wallet and exchange.

Swap fees depend on the assets and network conditions involved. The app shows the rate and the estimated cost before you confirm the trade.

Halving is a scheduled event roughly every four years that cuts the rate of new Bitcoin creation in half. It's a network-level event, and it doesn't touch your private key or your existing balance.
